Shelter in Sorrow offers thoughtful Christian companionship for people living through grief and loss. We make room for sorrow without rushing it, and we look for hope without pretending that loss is simple.

The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

What we publish

We publish original, human-written articles, prayers, Scripture reflections, and practical resources for bereavement, anticipatory grief, remembrance, and supporting someone who is grieving.

How we write

Our work is warm, honest, grounded in Scripture, and welcoming to Christians across Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, Evangelical, and Pentecostal traditions. We do not offer easy explanations for suffering or prescribe a timetable for grief.
